Wa'tkwanonhwerá:ton and welcome to the Kahnawà:ke Education Center website.
Tsi Niionkwarihò:ten (Our ways) drives educational curriculum for our three schools. Its principles embody our philosophy when it comes to teaching our students. We base our teachings on culturally relevant essential learning outcomes framed by our strategic plan. Our KEC vision supports this process, keeping us mindful of our focus and greatest strength: our children
Here at the KEC we support learning in many forms: in the classroom, through outdoor hands on activities, project based learning, and individual one to one resource support - learning that also provides a foundation for continued professional development for our 250+ staff members. This ensures we approach education in a holistic way. Collectively, our staff strives to engage in learning that addresses the needs of each student. This is our mission as educators, administrators, parents, and community members. All of these activities are envisioned and delivered from our parents, guiding our schools in attaining the educational goals parents want for our most valuable commodity, our future generations.
I invite you to look around our website where you will find the various programs offered at our three schools. Look at our curriculum; see how Kanien'kéha and French immersion play such an important role in our programs. Witness our direction and growth.
You've come to the right place to see progressive pioneers and leaders in Indigenous education who continue to put our education into action.
Niá:wen,
Robin Delaronde
