KCSC Announces End of Term – Tahothoratie Cross
Kahnawà:ke Combined Schools Committee (KCSC)

The Kahnawà:ke Combined Schools Committee (KCSC) would like to advise the community that Tahothoratie Cross, the Post-Secondary representative stepped away from the KCSC effective Tuesday, November 19, 2024 as his second three-year term expired.
Tahothoratie was elected at the November 27, 2018 Annual General Assembly (AGA) and re-elected at the November 17, 2021 AGA. He was appointed by his peers on the committee to sit as Chairperson for the past six years and in that time he has always exhibited the utmost integrity and respect for everyone and everything he does.
During his time on the KCSC, Tahothoratie was a cooperative team member; he actively attended all KCSC meetings with an open-mind; he shared ideas and at times, had to make tough decisions through consensus of the KCSC.
Tahothoratie played a pivotal role in the review of the revised KCSC legislation documents: The Kahnawà:ke Education Responsibility Act (KERA) and the Constitution & By-Laws. He was also involved in the review and ratification of the revised Post-Secondary Policy of the Kahnawà:ke Education Center (KEC). He was the First Nations Education Council (FNEC) representative on behalf of the KCSC, he coordinated monthly meetings of the KCSC, supported the KCSC Administrative Assistant and the Directors’ of the KEC, sat on the Strategic Steering & Planning Committee and the Standing Committee on Directors’ Supervision.
The KCSC extends a fond farewell to their respected Chairperson; Tahothoratie Cross and thank him for his unrelenting dedication to the Kahnawà:ke education system. A tireless and committed volunteer; he has made many personal sacrifices and gone above and beyond expectation in carrying out the grassroots work of the KCSC. He will truly be missed.
