Kahnawà:ke Education Center (KEC) 20 Tsothóhrha/December 2021 -The Kahnawà:ke Education Center would like to remind our school communities about the reason behind the winter break extension. The week of January 3, 2022, to January 7, 2022, has been allocated a preventative week. There will be no online classes for the week. We ask that additional travel arrangements not be made during this particular week. Special attention should be given to monitoring any COVID-19 symptoms and be tested, if necessary. We strongly encourage you to follow the protocols as set by Kahnawà:ke Local Public Health and the Kahnawà:ke Public Safety Commission.
We are including a link to access a KEC January calendar. This will further explain the time off since there are two floating pedagogical days for Mid-Winter festivals within the time frame:
During the holidays, any pertinent advisories will be posted to our social media or website and we ask that you please check these sites during the week of January 3-7, 2022 for additional information on the return to school. Please keep informed of additional restrictions/guidelines this holiday season.
At this point in time, we will not be deploying Chromebooks or iPads at the elementary levels. A plan of action is in place and should the need arise for deployment after the holidays, we will inform you.
Please take the time to rest well, and enjoy your family this holiday break.
Continue to stay vigilant during this holiday break; be mindful; follow the guidelines for masking, hygiene, and distancing.
