Kahnawà:ke Education Center (KEC) Kahnawà:ke, Quebec – 4 Kentenhkó:wa/November 2021 – Further to the recent announcement on Kahnawake 911 regarding vaccinations for 5-12 year olds; KEC would like to reassure our parents that we are not making vaccinations mandatory to attend our schools.
We will not be hosting or planning visits to the vaccination clinics at the Knights of Columbus Hall. We advise parents to keep informed through the Kateri Memorial Hospital Center and direct any questions they may have to Public Health. Vaccination appointments for children between the ages of 5-12 years old will be the responsibility of parents.
We would also like to clarify that although the Quebec Health Minister is minimizing masking at the high school level to some extent; Kahnawà:ke Education Center will be maintaining our masking guidelines for all grade levels. We will re-evaluate this after the holidays.
In the best interest of health and safety, please continue to follow the guidelines for masking, hygiene, and social distancing.
