Kahnawà:ke Education Center (KEC) Kahnawà:ke, Quebec – 6 Ohiari:ha/June 2021 – The goal for vaccinations of youth aged 12-17 years is 75%.  Fifty percent of 12-15-year-olds and 70% of 16-17-year-olds have received the vaccination and many families have contacted Public Health advising that they were unaware of last week’s vaccination campaign for this age group.  With these findings, our Public Health Team has decided to open up a Walk-In vaccination clinic for this target age group on Monday, June 14, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Vaccinations are taking place at the Kahnawà:ke Mohawk Bingo Hall.  For children under 14 years of age, parents will need to accompany their child or fill a consent form prior to their child attending the walk-in clinic.  A cellular number where you can be reached should be provided if you are not able to accompany your child.  Children over the age of 14 can provide their own consent and therefore do not require accompaniment by a parent.

Please remember that although vaccinations are not mandatory for the 21/22 school year, we are looking forward to instilling a sense of normalcy for students in this age category.  Receiving the vaccine is one way of protecting your child against the virus.  It also ensures the safety of the entire school population and a decrease in COVID-related measures upon return in September.

We ask that you please take a moment to review your options and be informed.  You can do this by visiting:
