Kahnawà:ke Education Center (KEC) (Kahnawà:ke, Quebec) – 9 Onerahtókha/April  2021 – Variants of the COVID-19 virus have been traced to our surrounding areas.  As such, we need to amend our existing masking guidelines to secure the safety of our students and staff working on-site.  These new directives put in force by the Kahnawake COVID-19 Task Force will begin on Monday, April 12, 2021.

  • All students, grade 1 and up must wear a level 1 medical grade mask at all times, even while sitting at their desks.  Students can remove their masks while eating, however must maintain a 2-meter distance.
  • While outdoors, masks must be worn at all times.
  • Staff and students will continue to be provided two medical grade masks per day.  We will commence providing masks for grades 1 to 4 on Monday.
  • Level 1 medical grade masks are already being provided to students from grades 5-11.

The health and safety of our staff and students remain a priority and we remind you that following these guidelines will support our efforts.  Thank you for your continued cooperation.

Remember to stay safe, wash your hands, mask and continue to social distance.
