Kahnawà:ke Education Center (KEC) (Kahnawà:ke, Quebec – 3 Tsothohrhkó:wa/January  2021) We are at a critical time in the fight to prevent COVID-19 spread within our community.  Rising cases within the community have the KEC making a change to original plans for returning from winter break.  It is crucial to move forward with caution as we reopen schools.

The KEC also reminds parents and students that Monday, January 4, 2021, is a PED day with no classes for students.

As originally, planned, from January 5- January 8, 2021, schools will open for the children of essential workers only. Unfortunately, we must request that vulnerable students remain home this week to further decrease student numbers in our schools during this crucial period.  If there is a reason why you feel your child must attend school this week, please contact your school Administrator on Monday, January 4, 2021, to discuss.

If essential workers choose to keep their child(ren) home for this week, we are asking to please contact their school administration of your intention.  Please do this by noon tomorrow, Monday, January 4, 2021.  Staff will be available to take your call or to return your call.

Remote and Home Learning will continue as normal from Tuesday, January 5 – Friday, January 8, 2021.

The KEC is monitoring the current situation as well as the needs of families and students this week.  Further communications will follow to keep you updated.

We strongly urge everyone to remain vigilant, maintain physical distancing, and stay safe.  Together we can do our part to reduce COVID-19 transmission.
