Kahnawà:ke Education Center (KEC) (Kahnawà:ke, Qc – 15 Tsothóhrha / December 2020)

Although there is ongoing uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the KEC has decided to maintain the four-day school schedule into 2021.  Students will continue to have Fridays off in the upcoming New Year.  This will be in effect until March Break, which is scheduled for the week of March 1, 2021.  Friday will continue to be reserved for specific interventions as per each school’s need.

Our Calendar Committee will reconvene in January to revisit the school calendar and determine amendments for the remainder of the school year.

We will not be placing the two floating PED Days, normally reserved for Midwinter, on the calendar for January, however, remind students and staff that they will be accommodated should they wish to attend.

The schools and offices of the KEC will be closing for the holiday season beginning on Monday, December 21, 2020 until Friday, January 1, 2021.

Schools will reconvene for students on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, with our staff returning on Monday, January 4, 2021, to attend an all-day conference.

Please note: We have moved the Pedagogical day of Friday, January 8, 2021, to Monday, January 4, 2021, and therefore ask parents to note this change on their calendars.

Monday, January 4 – Pedagogical Day
Friday, January 8 – Full day of school for all KEC Schools

Robin Delaronde, Director of Education, sends the following message on behalf of the KEC,

“It has been a challenging start to our school year and I would like to take this opportunity to thank parents, educators, and support staff for your adaptability, patience, and dedication towards making this school year a success. Have a restful holiday and please stay safe. “.
