Kahnawà:ke Education Center (KEC) (Kahnawà:ke, Quebec –  6 Seskéha/August 2020) – Kahnawà:ke Education Center Schools will re-open, however, the student school year will be delayed by two weeks. The Kahnawà:ke Covid-19 Taskforce has authorized the re-opening of Kahnawà:ke Schools. Students will begin re-entry into the schools on September 14, 2020. The reason for this delay is to observe the impact other schools will experience and monitor the Covid-19 transmission rates in surrounding communities. The KEC will continue to collaborate with health and safety experts, the Kahnawà:ke Covid-19 Task Force, and other educational services (schools, bus transportation, and after-school providers) in order to monitor and develop a comprehensive educational health and safety guideline for all community schools to follow. Educators will use the time prior to the return of students to receive health and safety training, receive professional development, plan, and practice new procedures.

Our staff is working diligently to secure the safety of staff and students in all schools within our community.

Further details will be released in the coming weeks.
