KEC Moves Forward to Address Curriculum Concerns

Kahnawà:ke Education Center (KEC) (Kahnawà:ke, Quebec – 17 Ohiarí:ha/June 2019) – KEC administration is continuing with the plan to address concerns about proposed curriculum and scheduling changes. After a meeting was held with some KSS students on Friday, and the delivery of a letter by the KSS In-School Committee concerning the changes, a meeting was held this afternoon between KEC Administration and KSS staff to discuss proposed changes and to address teacher concerns. The meeting, originally scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, June 18th was moved forward to today.

KEC administration and KSS teachers agreed to continue their discussions tomorrow Tuesday, June 18 to discuss specific questions by teachers raised at today’s meeting and to meet by department.

A response letter is being sent to the KSS students who met with KEC Administration this past Friday.

A letter and fact-sheet will be sent to respond to the KSS In-School Committee’s letter that was delivered after the June 14th meeting. The KEC will schedule a meeting with the KSS In-School Committee to discuss their concerns further.
