KEC Communiqué: KEC encourages community to use direct communications tools for information

The Kahnawà:ke Education Center and its schools put school safety as one of our highest priorities - it is our responsibility to ensure that our community’s children learn in a safe environment.

We ask that parents and community, refrain from posting general questions concerning KEC and schools to Facebook, but to contact the KEC or the schools directly and have your questions answered. We have seen recently how general concerns raised via social media are fueled by assumptions and false information. Recently, several social media conversations have included libelous (false information in the written form), or defamatory remarks against our staff. Some have included lateral violence, and serious threats to our school environments. The KEC does not take this lightly and will act accordingly, which could include taking legal action.

If you have questions about this, or any school or KEC policy, we highly encourage you to reach out to us using one of the many communications outlets we have available. You may call the KEC at 450-632-8770 – we will direct your call accordingly and the appropriate staff member will be available to answer them. You can also send an email to communications@kecedu.ca with your question, and it will be forwarded to the appropriate department. For school issues, please contact your school administration.
